How to Start Fitness Journey

1)Make a commitment to yourself

Commitment

Just finding a reason why you want to start fitness journey makes it very easy to go long. Most people left the fitness journey in the middle because they don’t have any commitment to themself, and due to that reason, they found themself less motivated and quit their journey. Basically, achieving your fitness journey is all about your mindset, and having a growth mindset is key to success.

2)Start slow

Starting slow and steady is the key to a successful fitness journey.

The following are the most important point you must keep in mind.

  • Begin with low-impact exercises.
  • Gradually increase intensity and duration.
  • Listen to your body and avoid overtraining.
  • Mix up your routine to avoid boredom.
  • Focus on form over speed. Start with short workout sessions.
  • Incorporate rest days into your routine.
  • Consult a doctor before starting if you have any health concerns.

3)Stay Consistent

Staying consistent is crucial to success in a fitness journey. Make exercise a regular part of your routine and stick to your plan. Fitness is not achieved in just one day or month it takes time, so you just need to stay consistent with your fitness plan.

Here are some tips that help you to stay consistent.

  • Set achievable, weekly/daily goals.
  • Make exercise a part of your daily routine.
  • Use a workout buddy or join a class for accountability.
  • Reward yourself for meeting your goals.
  • Stay motivated with new challenges

Setting specific and achievable goals is essential for success in a fitness journey. Sometimes we set unrealistic goals due to which we hesitate to start and our journey ends there, so setting realistic, easy and enjoyable goals helps a lot to start your journey.

Here are some tips:

  • Make your goals SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound).
  • Focus on both short-term and long-term goals.
  • Write down your goals and place them where you can see them daily.
  • Prioritize your goals based on the importance

5)Track your progress

Keep track of your progress, such as weight, body measurements, and strength. Human psychology says that if you find progress in your work then you feel motivated and your chances of going the same work again increase a lot, that’s why keeping the track of your progress is very important.

Here are some ways to track progress:

  • Keep a fitness journal

  • Take photos or measurements

  • Track workout routines and duration

  • Use a fitness app or wearable device

  • Record strength or endurance improvements
